Yes. It sounds really intense and scientific. To a certain extent, it IS scientific. There’s been so much said about healing your emotional body and learning to recover memories. Some of it is steeped in religious and spiritual rhetoric obscuring the real intent, and some of it is so abstract that it cannot be comprehended, let alone followed. But I believe there is a way to re-program yourself and your emotions.
It’s human nature to want to improve yourself and your condition, just as it is human to lose yourself and your conditions. It’s all a matter of your energy and your intent. So much of what we are taught in our American culture tries to obscure the bad by over emphasizing the good. The whole notion of there being a “devil” guy dressed in red with a pitchfork somehow making a priest do the unthinkable to a young boy is trite and silly now. Human beings, no matter what their cultural or racial differences have to learn to take responsibility for not only their actions, but for their own emotional make-up.
When we are young and growing up, we are told to be “good’ and that there are “bad” people looking to do us harm. Its only when we grow older that we learn that this is not entirely true. There are plenty of “good” people who are doing despicable things just because they think it is the only thing they can do, or think its trendy to behave in such a way.
What is truly frightening to me is the resurgence of evangelical thought rising from the midlands of our country. Looking in some of these people’s eyes as they talk of everyone needing to find Jesus or burn in the fires of hell scares the hell out of me. Their view is frighteningly absolute and robotic (despite the fervor). They have to know on some level of intelligence that what they are saying is just one very stilted view of what is really going on. They have the nerve to look at people who may follow Astrology and call them devil worshippers or crazy, meanwhile they are literally quoting a 2000-year-old book that was written AFTER they killed Jesus. Many years after in some places.
So in the following installments I will take a look at some of these trains of thought and see if I can’t find another track…

Taking a different approach....
ANTIC was created as a need to clarify the very muddy waters of spirituality. There are so many people on earth right now struggling to find a path to god that they ignore their actions here and now. After reading many texts on this subject, I wondered if it wasn't time for there to be another way of looking at things that still respects the old ways and incorporates newer trains of thought. Really, there is nothing new under the sun, but you can choose to look at things in a new way.
The following is a deconstruction of the older way of thought, and injecting a dose of realism and humor.
